Text formatting

Background

Deki retains some of Mediawiki's formatting methods, including some plain-text syntax that makes formatting faster. This is an in-process list that will grow as we discover what does and what does not work.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Check out the list of Keyboard Shortcuts for quick formatting.

Nesting & Unnesting Shortcut

When editing a list, you can promote or demote a line by using <TAB> to promote and <Shift>+<TAB> to demote. Note that demotion sometimes destroys the bullet or number.

Signature

As noted in the forums, Deki supports the use of tilde characters for signatures.

Three tildes ('~') expand in a link to your user page

Result: ahathaway

Four tildes expand into a user page link and a date

Result: ahathaway 13 Feb 2007
