How do I...Customize My Wiki?

Table of contents
  1. 1. Custom HTML Sections

Deki Wiki is a very flexible system which enables you to customize the appearance of the pages in various ways which do not require that you delve into the source code to change the appearance.  Standardized skins are available to change the look and feel of the pages.  The Visual Appearance page of the Control Panel also offers options to customize.

Custom HTML Sections

There are Custom HTML Sections on the Control Panel/Visual Appearance Page.  Add any custom HTML code to these sections to add advertising, links, logos, images, etc. The number of Custom HTML Sections is different for different skin families.

This screenshot shows where each of the 6 Custom HTML Sections appear on a page using the Fiesta Cobalt-Marine skin on a 21" monitor.

These are the areas where your Custom HTML will appear, however, you may have to do some CSS customization using the Customize Site Styles section of the Visual Appearance page (Override template CSS and Customize Content Styles) to change the margins or other style items to fit your custom HTML code enhancements. For example in order to insert a 468 x 60 Google AdSense ad at the top of a Fiesta skin you will need to add a 65 pixel top margin to the body section to fit a Google AdSense ad. See How do I...Insert advertising on my wiki? for details on making this specific change.
