How do I...Add a link to a page section?

Table of contents
No headers

Deki Wiki does not yet provide editor support for anchors.  As a result, it is necessary to insert page section links manually:

1.  Browse to the page containing the section to which you want to link.

2.  Click on the table of contents icon and select the section.

./Image1.JPG
Figure 1

3.  Once you have selected the section, the browser will show its link in the address bar.  Select the page title and section portion of the address and copy it to the clipboard.  Examples:

./Image2.JPG
Figure 2

4.  Edit the page where you want to add the link.  Do not use the Insert/Modify link button.  Instead, type your link in the page using the bracket notation format [[<link>|<title>]].  Examples:

NOTE: Never open your section links with the Insert/Modify link dialog - they will become corrupted.

Using VM/Windows XP I had to use the notation [[./#3.2.c2.a0.c2.a0.c2.a0_Grit_Pumps|Grit Pumps]] to create a link to http://126.1.1.154/index.php?title=O%26M_Documentation/Headworks/Grit_Removal#3.2.c2.a0.c2.a0.c2.a0_Grit_Pumps with a name "Grit Pumps". Link goes to same active page (the current page.)

Why is not this information in "Linking" section of the User Manual (http://wiki.opengarden.org/Deki_Wiki/User_Manual#Linking)? I have wasted 30 minutes looking for this information on the Forum, because I did not find it in the User Guide. Luckily a fellow colleague pointed me to this "How to" page. If the content is too technical for the target audience of the User Manual (which does seem to be geared at strictly introductory information), how about, at least, a link to the "How to" page in the manual. this doesn't make sense:
Once you have selected the section, the browser will show its link in the address bar. Select the page title and section portion of the address and copy it to the clipboard.

How does one copy anything from the address bar, assuming that's where you telling us to copy it from? And what do you mean by "select"? Does that mean select it in the way you would a sentence in Word, or put your cursor over it so it becomes highlighted etc? When I do the former, the address is displayed but as soon as I move the mouse away then the info disappears. The only way I can make this work is by actually writing the whole thing down and then typing it in. :(
