How do I...Integrate Deki Wiki with Sharepoint 2007?

There are different components that Sharepoint can extend to Deki Wiki in order to have integration including Search, Documents, and Authentication.

Integrating Deki Wiki with Sharepoint Search

  1. Open SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration.
  2. Navigate to the Application Management page.
  3. In the Office SharePoint Services Shared Services section of the Application Management page, click Create or Configure this Farm’s Shared Services.
  4. To open the administration site for the Shared Service Provider, click the name of the Shared Service Provider for the search service.
  5. In the Search section, to open the Configure Search Settings page, click Search Settings.
  6. To open the Manage Content Sources page, click Content Sources and crawl schedules.
  7. Click New Content Source, and then for Name it Deki Wiki.
  8. For Content Source Type, select Web Sites.
  9. Next type out the url/IP of your Deki Wiki in the Start Addresses box.
  10. Then Select Only crawl within the server of each start address
  11. Then Select Start full crawl of this content source, and then click OK to add the content source.

Integrating Deki WIki with SharePoint as a Document Share

I'm still getting my feet wet on how Sharepoint handles documents and how it is able to extend to link to other datasources.  Notes would be very welcomed here.

Integrating Authentication with Sharepoint and Deki Wiki

To integrate authentication with Sharepoint you would follow the steps to integrate Deki Wiki with Active Directory.   This will allow the user to login to Deki Wiki using the same credentials that they log into Sharepoint with.  The next step is to add NTML support so that the authentication passes through to Deki Wiki and the user is logged in

Showing Deki Wiki within SharePoint

  1. Log into SharePoint and select Site Action -> Create
  2. Next Select New Web Page Part
  3. Name it Deki Wiki
  4. Select Full Page Vertical for the layout
  5. Then Select Create
  6. Now click on Add a Web Part
  7. Scroll down and select Site Aggregator
  8. Next add the Url of your Deki Wiki instance in the Site URL and name the Site whatever you'd like and then click Create
  9. Next click the down arrow that is at the end of the Site Aggregator Bar
  10. Now select Modify Shared Web Part
  11. Increase the Height Pixels to 2500 so that you don't have to use two scroll bars
  12. Next scroll down and select URL and delete all of the text in the field URL to append to site
  13. Then click ok
  14. Now you have your full Deki Wiki within SharePoint so that you can easily reference

Hey Corey,

Do you know if this works with sharepoint 2003, which my organisation has running? Will sharepoint index the pdf / other attachment content?

Thanks!

Is it possible to integrate DekiWiki into SharePoint as much as Confluence is doing here: http://www.atlassian.com/sharepoint/ ??

This would be really nice... hope somebody knows if this is possible or if this is a feature that soon will come?
