How do I...Setup RSS Notifications for Changes to the Wiki?

There a various different ways to recieve notifications of changed to Deki Wiki.

Setup an RSS reader in your Email Client

The fastest and easiest way to receive notifications in email for RSS feeds is to setup an RSS reader in your email client.  Below is a list of Email clients with some RSS readers that can be installed.(None of these RSS readers are endorsed by MindTouch)

Outlook

 Depending on what version of Outlook you are using, there should be support for subscribing to RSS feeds.  If you have a version that doesn't support RSS feeds you can use free software provided by companies like Newsgator
 

Thunderbird

 Thunderbird natively supports RSS feed reading.  Click here to read more on setting it up.

Mac Mail

 Similar to Outlook, there are companies that provide free software that can be installed to read RSS feeds. The latest version of Mac Mail in Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) now features RSS feeds in a similar manner to Thunderbird.
 

Use an RSS forwarding Service

Another way to recieve notifications in your email is to use hosted RSS forwarding services.  The services consume the RSS feed and sends them to the email address that you stipulate.  Here are a couple of RSS fwd services:

A lot of people are using hosted RSS reades like Google Reader to keep track of notifications. If you use Gmail, you can get the Better Gmail Firefox Extension and integrate Google Reader  in th ebottom half of the Gmail screen. 

Install an RSS reader on your Computer

There are also a lot of stand alone RSS readers that can be installed on any operating system and vary in range from Free to Paid.  Please feel free to add your favorites here.

NewsGator has just made their highly regarded RSS Suite of applications available for free. These are not trail or demo versions but complete applications that usedto be for sale and are now free. There is FeedDemon for Windows and NetNewsWire for Mac.

Use the RSS Features in Safari or Firefox Web Browsers

Both Firefox and Safari allow you to bookmark RSS feeds.

Firefox calls it Live Bookmarks and with this feature, after some organizing, you can keep up with your RSS feed subscriptions without ever leaving your browser toolbar.
